Kabale Town is located in Kabale District in Western Uganda. It is loacted 10 kilometers from the Katuna border. It lies about 420 kilometers from Kampala city. Kabale is a green and scenic town in Uganda.
It is heavily cultivated and its green terraced hills surround the town thus making the area so special.
Kabale serves as a gateway to relaxing Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Mutanda and the thrilling gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The Virunga Mountains which lie along the Rwanda-DR Congo border are visible from the Kabale Town.

Tourism
There is a home of Edirisa, a local run project that is worthy visiting. This interesting little museum houses a traditional homestead built of sticks and papyrus showing how the local Bakiga lived in the past. In additional to the museum, you will find a small travellers’ village tucked away in the polka-dotted building. There is a menu with interesting meals, a good gift shop and internet access.

- Rwesaza and Ngoha hills
- Historical hiding places of the Banyoro from the Baganda during tribal wars,
- Caves and Scenic Rocks including Nyarujansi hill, Mirambi hill, Maingira, Kafufu, Mutengesa, Nabihura, Ngoma hill, Butale hill, Nyabisekembe hill, Nyakaro hill and Nyasononwa. Others are: Balibonensaro, Rukindo hill, Kahindoba, Bukaranga, Musima hill, Kamuroza, Kyema hill.
Kabale is the main gateway to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to almost half of the world’s remaining population of the mountain gorillas.
There are also several forests where wildlife viewing can be done. You can see the Colobus Monkeys, Chimpanzees and Baboons on a guided nature walk.
There are also interesting waterfalls and the Drum, found at Bukumi in Nkondo Sub-County which are believed to be the largest drum in East Africa. The drum belongs to Bukumi Christian Parish.
Accessibility
Kabale can be accessed by Road and it lies just 10km from the Katuna Border.
There is also the Kabale Airport that lies approximately 311 km from Entebbe International Airport and it is located about 5 km from Kabale Town.
